BOB DINNEEN ELECTED NEW RFA PRESIDENT AND CEO
WASHINGTON, DC - The Renewable Fuels Association (RFA) today announced that after a two- month search process, Bob Dinneen, vice president of the trade group, has been elected president and CEO effective immediately.
"With the ethanol industry in the midst of the greatest period of growth to date, it's crucial to have an experienced leader at the RFA - Bob Dinneen is that person," said Ron Miller, RFA board chairman and President of Williams Bio-Energy. "During his 14 years with the RFA, Bob has become a respected presence on Capitol Hill, an expert on technical issues, and a leader within the ethanol industry. On behalf of the ethanol industry, I want to congratulate Bob and say we look forward to his continued work promoting the production and use of ethanol."
Dinneen joined the RFA in 1988 and served as legislative director and, later, vice president. "I want to thank the RFA for this opportunity," said Dinneen. "This is a critical time for the ethanol industry. With unprecedented growth comes a variety of new challenges. I will work to preserve existing markets and to chart a course for expansion. We must ensure that ethanol plays a greater role in our nation's energy supply. The RFA will maintain the close relationships we have built with our friends in the agricultural community, but at the same time we will need to be more in touch with our refiner customers. Resolving many of the outstanding issues will require a commitment from our two industries."
