September 25, 2001Preston Pro-Corn Plant to Expand Capacity Officials at a Preston, MN-based Pro-Corn ethanol plant recently announced that the facility will expand its capacity from 15 million gallons per year to 36 million gallons per year. The Pro-Corn plant was opened in 1998. Plant officials said the expansion is intended to help meet growing demand for ethanol.
The plant is currently operating above 60 percent of its original design capacity. The plant expansion project is expected to take about 12 months to complete.
"In order to keep up with the demands of the industry, the company feels this expansion is a priority," said Broin and Associates marketing and development director Larry Ward. "We look forward to bringing the Pro-Corn plant to the next level using the latest technology, for the growing ethanol market."
