October 26, 2001Fastenal Announces Partnership with Minnesota Corn Processors, LLC Fastenal, a distributor of industrial & construction supplies, announced it has signed a national supply agreement with Minnesota Corn Processors, LLC, the leader in converting corn into various products such as ethanol, starches and high fructose corn syrups. Under this agreement Fastenal will enhance its service offering to include Minnesota Corn Processors, LLC's refineries, bulk terminals and distribution centers.
Fastenal is in the process of quickly implementing Minnesota Corn Processors, LLC's business units to become their ``World Class Supplier''. The company currently operates 12 regional distribution centers and 1000+ branch locations serving over 350,000 customers. The agreement will also provide Minnesota Corn Processors, LLC's 55,000 farmer members an opportunity to benefit from Minnesota Corn Processors, LLC's leveraging its purchasing power.
``In today's tight economic conditions, our customers are looking for ways to cut costs and run more efficiently,'' said Nick Lundquist, Vice President of Sales for Fastenal. ``Our national accounts program with Minnesota Corn Processors, LLC provides them the vehicle to enhanced Vendor Managed Inventory services -- enabling them to reduce inventory costs and eliminate stock-outs.
``MCP is very pleased to add Fastenal, one of the world's largest distributors of industrial and construction supplies, to our list of preferred vendors,'' said Brad Mortland, Corporate Director of Purchasing of MCP. ``We appreciate the enthusiasm and support we have received from Fastenal and we look forward to working with them as we strive to manage our inventory for process improvement and cost savings.''
