Release of oil from the Strategic Petroleum Reserve will not solve the nation's long-term oil crisis with OPEC. Nor will fuel cells or the continued hunt for more oil. Irshad Ahmed, Chief Science Officer at the Pure Energy Corporation, told an audience at the September Biotechnology Seminar Series hosted by the Environmental and Regulatory Affairs Division of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce that the strategic solution to the United States energy crisis resides with biorefineries and engineered fuels.
"Pure Energy's integrated bioenergy solution allows for extending the petroleum supply in a cost effective manner, providing energy security, delivering cleaner burning motorfuels and more efficient energy systems to industry and the public," Ahmed said.
Ahmed cited the well-accepted Campbell-Leherrere world oil reserves predictive model, which concludes that if we maintain a present consumption growth rate of 2 percent, global oil production would peak in 2037.
