June 23, 2003Trenton Agri Products, LLC Begins Construction on Ethanol Plant in Nebraska Nebraska Has Seven Ethanol Plants and Three Under Construction
Washington, DC – The Renewable Fuels Association (RFA) congratulats Trenton Agri Products, LLC for beginning construction on its ethanol plant near Trenton, Nebraska.
“We congratulate Trenton Agri Products as construction begins on its ethanol plant,” said Bob Dinneen, RFA president. “The state of Nebraska made a commitment to improve its rural economy by encouraging ethanol production. With one new ethanol plant beginning production this year and three more under construction, the state is beginning to see the reward on their investment.”
Berexco, Inc. of Wichita, Kansas, an oil and gas production company, is managing partner of Trenton Agri Products, LLC. The plant will process nearly 11 million bushels of corn into 30 million gallons of ethanol and 96,000 tons of distillers dried grains with solubles (DDGS) annually. The plant is expected to employ approximately 30 people.
The plant is being designed and built by ICM, Inc. of Colwich, KS. “We are pleased to be partnering with significant players in the oil and gas production industry,” said Jeff Roskam, ICM’s Senior Vice President. “Together with Berexco, their partners, employees and the Trenton community, we are building a state-of-the-art plant to maximize the unique attributes of this area in order to produce ethanol more cost-effectively. One potential benefit, the life of area oil wells can be extended by using the ethanol plant’s CO2 for tertiary oil recovery when economical.”
Currently, 73 ethanol plants nationwide have the capacity to produce 2.9 billion gallons annually. There are thirteen ethanol plants under construction.
