December 11, 2003New Ethanol Plant Could Increase Price Of Corn 60 Jobs Coming To Webster County
FORT DODGE, Iowa -- A South Dakota company is looking to buy land in Webster County near Fort Dodge to build a new ethanol plant.
VeraSun Energy has proposed building a $100 million gallon ethanol plant that would employ about 60 people.
Officials in Webster County say the plant would benefit the local economy with jobs and would increase the price of corn.
Talks are still in progress, but Webster County officials say the site near Fort Dodge is more competitive because the ethanol plant would be close to a highway and two railroads.
