July 30, 2004Biofuels Workshop & Trade Show: Western & Pacific Region to be held in Sacramento The Biofuels Workshop & Trade Show will be the first ever regional conference to focus on near-term development of commercial-scale ethanol and biodiesel production and use. The Biofuels Workshop & Trade Show will present technical industry information for the production and operations of a biofuel facility through plenary sessions, concurrent breakout workshops, and an industry trade show.
The main objectives are:
- To aid the development of a biofuels industry in the western region of the United States and Pacific Rim countries. These areas have some unique challenges and opportunities unlike the traditional crop-based Midwest biofuels industry.
- To provide meaningful and near-term or commercial viable information and expertise that targets the development of a biofuels industry in Western United States and Pacific Rim countries.
- To bring together the key people influential to the development of the biofuels industries.
- To exchange information that stimulates viable ideas and action steps.
- To offer solid, reliable technology and advice options, face-to-face, through experienced suppliers and consultants.
- To identify the areas of need that require further attention as part of the path forward.
California was deemed the best state to host the Biofuels Workshop & Trade Show due to the fact that is the holds one of the largest biofuels market, ethanol and biodiesel, in the country and rapidly growing support for developing these industries.
This inaugural event is expected to attract approximately 500 participants and 50 exhibitors representing:

- Industry technology, equipment and service vendors
