September 19, 2005Renewable Fuels Industry Reaches Out to Hurricane Victims Dear Ethanol/Biodiesel Supporter:
We are all so painfully aware of the devastation that has rocked the Gulf Coast of America. The tragedy is beyond our imagination. While we tend to focus on New Orleans, the havoc that was reaped by Hurricane Katrina covers a vast region of the Gulf.
The need for help cannot be overstated. Therefore, we have joined with the Renewable Fuels Association in seeking contributions for the American Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund. The Red Cross, like always, was one of the first on the scene, providing assistance, hope and comfort to those in need. BBI International has matched a $25,000 contribution by the Renewable Fuels Association as seed money in what we hope will be an outpouring of support from the biofuels industry for the efforts of the Red Cross in the Gulf.
Many of you may have already donated in some manner to these efforts, either as a company or individually. It is our hope that through our combined efforts we can provide a way for those who have not yet contributed to do so. We want to speak as one industry, an industry that deeply cares not only about our cause, but about all humanity.
If you are willing to give, please send a check payable to the American Red Cross to BBI International, P.O. Box 1146, Salida, Colorado 81201. Please do so by October 1st. The checks will be combined with the checks sent to the Renewable Fuels Association and forwarded to the American Red Cross.
